Critical in helping a 40+ year old muscle car drive as good as it looks is increasing the durability and stiffness of the suspension components. With modern technology and many companies now making complete kits for these cars, the choice to upgrade is easy.
Hotchkis makes their Total Vehicle System for Chevelles and many other classic musclecars too. The kit includes new upper adjustable and lower trailing control arms, trailing arm mount braces, performance springs with a 1" drop, and beefy anti-sway bars. All these help stiffen the chassis and improve the drive. Below you can see pictures of my Chevelle's old parts and the new ones that replaced them.
